چکیده
This study aimed to determine the activity of Ketapang extract (Terminalia cattapa L.) in layers infected with APEC. In vitro that was conducted dilution methods using at 5%, 10%, 15%, 20%, 25% and 30% concentrations. vivo by randomly dividing 20 into five treatment groups, four per group. The chickens (except group P0−) were APEC aged 24 weeks. Then, according divided groups one week. said treatments are P0− (uninfected unadministered extract), P0+ (infected P1, P2, P3 administered 20% concentrations, respectively). data from layers’ performance analyzed ANOVA Duncan’s test. method (MIC MBC) exhibited antibacterial ability against 5% dose. administration improved APEC, 10% dose showing best result. summary, about concentration can serve as an agent showed results

mcr-1 identified in Avian Pathogenic Escherichia coli (APEC)
Antimicrobial resistance associated with colistin has emerged as a significant concern worldwide threatening the use of one of the most important antimicrobials for treating human disease. Here, we examined a collection (n = 980) of Avian Pathogenic Escherichia coli (APEC) isolated from poultry with colibacillosis from the US and internationally for the presence of mcr-1 and mcr-2, genes known ...

متن کاملAvian Pathogenic Escherichia coli (APEC) - an update on the control
Escherichia coli is a common inhabitant of the gastrointestinal tracts of humans and animals. Commensal E. coli, designated as nonpathogenic, are considered to be the majority. This microorganism can be divided into two large groups: pathogenic and commensal E. coli. The pathogenic group is characterized by two more pathotypes: diarrheagenic E. coli (DEC) (with eight subpathotypes) and extraint...
متن کاملThe chicken as a natural model for extraintestinal infections caused by avian pathogenic Escherichia coli (APEC).
E. coli infections in avian species have become an economic threat to the poultry industry worldwide. Several factors have been associated with the virulence of E. coli in avian hosts, but no specific virulence gene has been identified as being entirely responsible for the pathogenicity of avian pathogenic E. coli (APEC). Needless to say, the chicken would serve as the best model organism for u...

Escherichia coli is probably the most famous bacteria in broiler production .... Along with Mycoplasma, it is responsible for many economical losses (meat produced of antibiotics spent to fight against). Colibacillosis is indeed the most frequently reported disease in surveys of poultry diseases or condemnations at processing. Yogaratnam in 1995, for instance, showed that 43% of broiler carcass...
